The 3rd IMS Manufacturing Technology Platform (MTP) Meeting for manufacturing R&D and technology transfer continued the high degree of success of this program launched a year ago. During its pilot phase, over thirty research initiatives were proposed, and amazingly, twenty-one of these were developed in active initiatives. The program's flexibility to meet industry needs allows for this high degree of success. A major MTP meeting is now planned for November, 2009.
The meeting took place in Zürich, Switzerland was on Monday, 27 April 2009, and Dr. Dimitris Kiritsis, EPL Switzerland, was the Program Chair. The goals and objectives of this workshop were:
1. To present and discuss selected NEW MTP ideas
2. To discuss Developed MTP ideas presented in the previous two MTP workshops, on 24 April 2008 in Bern and 2 October 2008 in Montreux.
3. To discuss reports on running MTPs.
