The DiFac project aimed to develop an innovative Collaborative Manufacturing Environment (CME) for next-generation digital manufacturing. The DiFac CME was used as a framework to support group work in an immersive and interactive way, for concurrent product design, prototyping and manufacturing, as well as worker training. It provided support for data analysis, visualisation, advanced interaction and presence within the virtual environment, ergonomics analysis, and collaborative decision-making.

World Manufacturing Forum 2013
This year’s event will be held 22-23 October, 2013 in Washington, D.C. at the Ronald Reagan Center. The Forum aims to bring together high-level industrialists, policy makers, and key societal stakeholders across the globe for a cross-exchange of ideas on major macroeconomic trends and manufacturing innovation. The forum is sponsored by IMS and its member countries and open to international sponsorship from government, industry, and institutions.
